In between making jewellery boards, salad in a jar, or freezing flowers in ice cubes and peeling various fruits to steep in vinegar, normal life chugs along. I don't talk about it much, because there isn't a great deal to talk about. I'm just an ordinary mum, who walks to and from school 4 times a day, sorts out the house, the food, writes lists, and tries to keep an organised and cosy home.

When he took redundancy in February, one of my main concerns was that life should stay as much the same as possible. For the most part, that is exactly what has happened. We trundle along the same as before, but with one huge difference: a happier husband.
Instead of working long hours, missing out on time with The Girl, he is home much more, and enjoying the time off. He's worked hard, luckily for us, so he can enjoy time at home for a while.
He's being quite useful with home projects, a new one is due to start next week. When he's not being useful, he's spending time at the gym. It was important to me that he wasn't home ALL the time! As I pointed out, home is 'my office', and I run it my way.
It doesn't stop me from worrying though. I still have nights when I wake up at Stupid O'Clock, can't sleep, and lay in bed thinking about things and fretting about stuff. Too many times I've watched the security light flick on, as the milkman plods along the path to leave our milk delivery.
Years ago, my dad told me that I 'floated through life'. He meant it as an insult, but I take it as a compliment. I'd rather give the impression of sailing along effortlessly, when beneath the surface I'm kicking like crazy.
Not sure if my everyday life is worthy of a blog post, of if anyone will actually read it. I have spent the best part of this week putting this post together, and I'm still not sure it was worth the time and effort. A massive part of me says not. I get so disenchanted with blogging nowadays. It's changed so much since I started and I've lost confidence over the years.
But, enough of that. As Miranda would say .. 'on with the show'. .
