Decorating for Easter

On Saturday we were sprinkled with snow again. It didn't stop The Girl and I from hanging colourful eggs on a tree in the front garden.
The eggs are inexpensive plastic ones that I've had for a few years now. I push florists' wire through the top of them and wire to the branches.

Last week on Pinterest I saw [this pretty wreath]. I wanted to copy the idea, using the wire hanger base I'd used for the [no fuss valentine wreath]. After taking it down from the front door, I kept it in the back garden.
I tried to buy silk Lily of the Valley flowers, but couldn't find any. I know I could find them online, but I wanted to make the wreath this weekend, not wait around for them to come through the post. When I make wreaths I prefer to use silk flowers with fresh foliage.

So, I looked around and found a hanging cluster decoration made of strands of white flowers and beads (can't describe it better than that).
I removed all the fading box foliage from my heart base, then wound two strands of beads and flowers around it. I cut ivy from the garden and wound that around too, securing in places with my trusty florists' wire. Deliberately keeping it a little messy looking. Perfectly heart shaped and tidy was not the look I was going for.
Excess wire can be snipped off afterwards.
After the ivy had been twisted round, the remaining two strands of beads and flowers were added. I finished off with the bow that I used before.
And there it was. Done.
It's still simple, and while not exactly like the Pinterest Lily of the valley wreath, it's delicate and similar.
It's not a very 'Eastery' looking wreath, but it suits my mood, and my craving for simple ideas.

The before and after.
