Easter is fast approaching.
Last year we were away at Easter, so I didn't bother to do any decorating. It's quite nice to be thinking about Easter decorating again.
On Sunday we bought some teeny tiny Easter tree decs.
They've sat in the kitchen waiting for me to put together a small tree for them.
Which is what I've done today.
Very simple and cost free - the kind of project I love!
I rootled around in the garage and found the twigs I used at Christmas, and a small bucket. I cut two pieces of twig and wrapped together to make a small but sturdy tree.
Both bucket and twigs were painted white and left to dry.

My plan was to set the twigs in air drying clay. But I haven't got any. I hunted the garage for the bag of cement that I know is in there, but couldn't find it. I really wanted to get the tree made today, so thought about it and came up with an easy and instant solution.
I walloped a hole in the bottom of the bucket, then screwed through and into one of the bases of the twigs.

After that I raided the garden for small stones to give weight and stability to the twigs, then covered with shredded stuff that looks like a birds nest. I can't remember where the shredded stuff came from, I suspect packaging from something I've had delivered.
I grabbed a piece of organza and tied around the bucket in bow...
... added the decs ...
.. and finished off with some tiny chicks.
And there it is. Very easy, ever lasting small Easter Tree that now lives in the dining room.
