pretty, but pointless

This was a Pinterest idea that I wanted to make 'just because'. They have no real point in life, but they are so pretty.

I've linked up to the pinterest page at the bottom of this post, so you can click on that for the Actual How To. Usually, you can track back to the original website or blog, but that didn't seem to be the case this time.
Do look at the original to see how they should look. They are so beautiful, and much, much better than my attempt. I'm a clumsy oaf, and even trying to pierce a hole and blow the egg out of it was beyond me. I ended up cracking a hole in it, removing the egg, and then had to glue the shell back together. Given that I couldn't cope with that, I decided against trying to drill holes around the side to give a filigree affect. I'd have ended up with a pile of shell.
I painted over the side swirls in grey, to so the colour would show up after scuffing.
Then I painted them white.
Once the fabric flowers have been glued on, scuff the sides. And that's it. Done.
My little girl loved helping make these. It's my kind of project, one that can be started but continued as and when time or mood allows.
