I don't have a finished project to show you today, but I can show you the start of one and what it's for.
I mentioned that The Girl wanted her birthday party at home this year. Her bd is in June, and I am *hoping* it will be sunny on the day we hold her party.
It would make life so much easier if it could be outside.
You just never know with British weather in the summertime!
These photos were taken in our back garden, for The Girls 1st birthday party in 2007. Seems strange seeing the garden chairs with their dark wood frames, now they are painted pastel shades and look so much nicer.
Anyway, the plan is to have the gazebo out again. And a bouncy castle.
It was my Thursday project, but I got distracted. I'll hope I can finish it off over the weekend.
Here's how it started life.
I cut the top off, then trimmed so it was level. This will be the centre of chandelier.
I had a lot of droplets left over from when I made the small [chandelier for the Fairy Tower]. They are perfect to use for the Birthday Chandelier.
You can see why I'm making such an early start on things. There is a lot to do. I have found the most fabulous tablecloth idea that I just HAVE to do, and there are other smaller projects to make for it. I've got a vision in my head of how I want the party to look, it's going to take a lot of work to make it happen. I have found so many brilliant websites recently, all of which have given me new ideas, or suggestions on how to make things. There are some fabulously talented people out there, I'm so glad they take the time to share their talents.
Halfway through the day I suddenly decided to make cakes for the girl for after school. I used this recipe to make a [half batch], then decorated. Trying to be creative, I melted chocolate and piped into hearts, then put in the fridge. Things were a little bit rushed, but both the husband and girl were pleased with them (I also piped their names in chocolate and added to the tops!).
