simple vase

Take a glass bottle (or jar)...
...add paint ...
... to make a pretty coloured vase.
Thought this was a nice project to share on Valentine's Day. Just slap paint in the colour of your choice on the outside of a jar or bottle, and *ta da* you have a new vase. I used this particular paint so that it wouldn't cause any problems if water trickled down the sides. That's the only advice I'd give, use a suitable paint so you don't end up with paint-marked furniture! From a distance it looks really nice, a good solid colour (little bit streaky close up, but ah well, it's artistic!)

Husband asked why I'd painted a milk bottle, which is quite funny really, considering they haven't been that shape here for absolutely years! I think this had some kind of Elderberry cordial in it. I liked the shape because it looked like an old fashioned milk bottle.

I had wanted to make more of a 'frothy' flower arrangement, one that I saw in a magazine a couple of years ago. I couldn't find my cupcake cake stand though, so I shall show you the photos from the magazine instead. This would make a pretty arrangement for a Valentine table. Take tiny jars (votive holders are perfect), then place in each cake section and add flowers.

Have a wonderful Valentine's Day.
