I yearn for snow at this time of year. I'm as excited as a child when snowflakes start to fall, and fall they have.
We are still covered with a thick layer of snow. It will probably melt away over the next couple of days, but that's ok. It's been. I'm happy.
Now I'm ready for spring. When days are still cold, but a watery sun shines through. The garden bursts into to life and I start thinking about getting the house, garden, and myself ready for the changing season.
I've bought a couple of things in readiness.
My springtime fragrance. And a pretty nail varnish. I've had my hair trimmed, and put on a colour to cover the grey.
And today, I've made myself and The Girl some pretty corsages. Usually when I make flowers in this way, I use individual petals. Not any more. I followed an excellent tutorial by [Sweet Mabel] and made the simplest but prettiest oversized peony flowers ever. Click on the link and take a look. So easy to do, I've made three today.
Yes. I'm ready to wake up from the long winter, and start enjoying the fresh air and flowers of spring.
