It ended up taking a lot longer than we imagined it would. Mainly due to the mess the "tiler" made with the floor.
We started talking about it in spring, in summer we decided on and bought paint, in the autumn we ordered the tiles, then had them messed up by an incompetent idiot. For such a small room, it has taken a lot of time and effort.
But at last it is complete.
The floor is perfect now. The husband did well. Remember how it looked after the "tiler" got his hands on the tiles?Love this mirror. Has a vintage feel to it but is brand new. The tiles around the sink were left over from when we had the shower room re-tiled a few years ago. Saving money were we can! These pictures were hanging up the pink bedroom when it was a spare bedroom. When The Girl moved into it, I took them down and stashed away. We were going to buy black & white prints to put on the wall, but I remembered these and thought they would look good in there. Saved money again, and I am so happy to see them back on display. This was my super bargain of last year. At the end of summer we went to B&Q (DIY shop), and they were taking down the display shades that were discontinued. I ended up buying it for just £2. Still makes me smile to think of how little it cost. This is how the downstairs toilet used to look. I loved this purple, but much prefer the colour of it now.At long last I have a mirror on the wall above the stairs. It's not been easy to find one big enough (or at the right price). Some were ridiculously expensive, not only was this large enough, but it was a real bargain and had a further 20% off too. I'm not as vain as all the mirrors in the house might suggest (I avoid looking into them as I walk past), I just love how mirrors reflect the light and brighten up any room. I prefer them to pictures. I still plan on having a wall of mirrors along the stair wall, but finding the right size and look is taking longer than anticipated.
I wish all changes were nice.
Unfortunately not all are.
Our year has started off with a cloud looming above and a fair degree of uncertainess.
I'm sure all will be well, life is a challenge and we just have to work our way through the little blips.
Hope your year is starting off on a more positive note.
