and that was Christmas

After all the build up and prep, Christmas is over for another year!

Christmas Eve started off with a trip to the [Suffolk Food Hall]. One of my favourite places to visit at any time, but even more so at this time of year. We choose to have chicken for Christmas lunch, I know we'll get a decent (local) one at the SFH.
After that we toodled off to lunch at the [Butt & Oyster] we did exactly the same last Christmas Eve, and I hope we do it every year. A little family tradition.
Back home, and it was time for some food prep, and to get the food ready for Father Christmas. We bought him a bottle of local ale and wrapped up for him this year.
On Christmas morning we were awoken bright and early by an excited little girl. After ripping open everything in her stocking, she charged downstairs at speed to rootle around the Christmas tree.
So pleased with my stash, love getting cookbooks and perfume for Christmas.
The chicken went in (I did remove the label first!)
I sat in the kitchen watching Gone with the Wind, and prepping the sprouts.
Might have had a little drinky as I worked!
I had an audience, what on earth were you hanging around for Dudley Darcy Dickens? Hmm. Chicken, perchance?
No white Christmas this year, instead it was grey, dark, rainy, then a brief dash of sun before the rain set in again. I spotted a Christmas rainbow.
Our Christmas Day was a perfectly cosy, lovely day. Laid back, casual, simple, cosy, and full of good food and pressies. To me, exactly how Christmas should be.

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas too.
