candles in the garden

It seems October is my month for lighting candles in the garden.

I feel a little behind in my seasonal decorating of the garden this year. I find myself suddenly realising then rushing around to make things look pretty.

Yesterday I realised Gingerbread House had nothing decorating it (neither does Mulberry Manor, I'll have to do some more decorating over the weekend). So I rootled around the garden and pulled together a few things.
I think I'll make a little twiggy wreath for the door later on today.
This little chap makes me smile, he's so cheery.
The sunflowers are from the garden.
And so are these apples. There wasn't enough to fill the bucket, so I've got an upside down terracotta pot inside to give a bit of height.
Had to take a photo of the sky last night, it was so pretty. How I love this time of year.
Now Gingerbread House looks pretty at night. I do like looking out on a cold and dark evening, and seeing flickering candlelight.
I think I've been distracted from Autumn decorating because we've been busy with a few little changes around the house. I won't show them now, as things aren't quite finished. I really hate disruption around the house, but it'll be so lovely once it's all done. And there is something rather cosy about making changes just before Winter kicks in. Nesting at its best.

Another week is over, and the weekend is here. What are your plans for the weekend?

Our weekends have changed since the summer, it used to be weekly shop on a Saturday morning, now it's all about swimming lessons for the girl, followed by shopping in town or having breakfast at a restaurant.
One thing I know I'm going to do this weekend is read this book. I've wanted to buy it since last year, but have only just got around to it!
