adding autumn to the garden

When I returned home from school this morning, I realised that other than the leaves on the ground, and the leaves on the creeper covering the house turning red, there wasn't really much in the way of celebrating autumn.

It's my favourite time of year. I really wanted to show it.

So, I gathered a few bits from around the house and garden, and made a few little seasonal additions around the front door.
Ideally, I'd have kept the colours white and green, in keeping with my 'White Autumn' plan this year. But, this was a spur of the moment thing, and considering that, I'm very pleased with what I was able to do.

All Chrysanthemum flowers have been cut from plants in the back garden. The tiny apples are from our miniature apple tree.
This is my favourite side, as absolutely everything is home grown, the flowers, apples, the green pumpkin that has little chance of turning orange now (but I think I prefer it this way), and the yellow squash.
So had I planned in advance to do this, it would look less colourful, but it has cost me nothing to do and at least it gives the front of the house a seasonal look.
I added another flower display to the bench in the front garden.
Again, all flowers are from the garden.
