With Gorgeous Girl at school, time seems to whizz by at treble speed. In the afternoon I have to constantly watch the clock to make sure I'm out of the house and down at the school in time for her coming out. It never ceases to amaze me how soon I need to leave, and even though I know to expect it, I usually end up running out of the door in a slight panic.
This week I have had the pleasure of her company for two extra days. On Monday she was a little poorly, so I kept her home. Just as well, it was scorching hot, and I was able to make sure she drank plenty of liquid. On Thursday most of the teachers were on strike, so she had the day off. I was as delighted as she was about having the extra day off!
So what has happened here at Cotton Rose House? Here are some of the edited highlights.
The sunflowers have grown and grown and are now flowering.
Finding a red one was an unexpected surprise.
Despite scribbling 'KITCHEN SHELVES' on my 'to do' list each day, I STILL haven't done anything with them. Normally I have a seasonal vignette of some kind, or flowers, or shoes under a cloche - something. But lately my inspiration has dried up and I just can't think of what to do. They are screaming out for something pretty, instead of being a dumping ground for sunglasses and post.With Friday being the start of a new month, I decided to leave the last few pages of my two and a half year diary empty, and start a new one.
The little Lady needed new shoes, so we made a quick stop to the shoe shop too. Yet again I have shoe envy, I'd love a pair of these.
