It's really starting to feel like Autumn here now. The days are cool but sunny and crisp, an earthy fragrance fills the air, berries are on the trees, and pumpkins are in the shops. It's a glorious time of year.
At the start of April, I bought the most gorgeous shoes. I loved them, but they did not love me. They were cruel to me. They squeezed my toes, they arched my feet uncomfortably, they made me walk in an ungainly manner with pain that felt as if my shins were about to splinter. I came to the decision that I really couldn't wear them. Sad but true. I could not bear the thought of putting them in a charity bag, instead I have displayed them under the glass cloche in my kitchen. It looks fabulous, and I can still admire them but minus the pain and ungainly waddle. At long last the shower room is complete. I showed you photos of it a few weeks ago, and mentioned that we needed to order a roller blind and find a shaving mirror. We'd intended on getting the blind from Cath Kidston, but instead we went with Laura. You know I love a bargain, and several weeks ago they had a discount weekend on walls & windows. Too good to resist, and when we spotted the 'hydrangea' fabric, knew it would look perfect.
Here it is.
I would have taken a better photo, but I suspect you might be getting a touch bored with seeing photos of the room by now. I must praise Laura Ashley's made to measure service again. This is the second time we've used the service and both times have been perfect. If you were thinking of placing an order with them, do so with total confidence. They are brilliant.
The mirror. Nothing special, but absolutely ideal.
So nice to finally have everything finished. Work started back in May, but we were thinking about it for months beforehand. It's been hard work, but the end result is so worth it.
