daily inspiration

Last year I wanted to start an inspiration board where I could stash photos, fabrics, ribbons and other inspriational bits & pieces, using the same idea as the [quick & simple pinboard]that I made last May. I couldn't find a suitable frame (you know when you want something to make something EXACTLY as it appears in your mind, and if you can't get the right thing then nothing else will do), so I decided to use the [shadow box] that I made last August. I'd put it away in the garage until I decided where it should live. Now it lives in the kitchen. It changes almost daily, and truly is a source of inspiration. Holding things that I like, that I love and that inspire.
Why did I think I needed a corkboard of some kind, when this is perfect for me?

Earlier this week, when I was visiting [LuLu Liz], I saw that she had followed a tutorial for making roses. Anyone who has known me for a long time, or followed this blog since I started it, will know I just LOVE making roses of any kind. I've been asked several times to share how I make my felt and [velvet roses]but I never have. For no other reason than it would take absolutely ages to explain exactly how I make them. I have shared how I made my [Organza Roses], because they are so simple that they take hardly any explaining.
While I take pride in making flower corsages in my own way, I'm always interested when I find an easy to follow idea.
The tutorial was from [Robin's Egg Blues],and is brilliant. I made two roses in under ten minutes! Here are my results. If you have ever wanted to make your own flowers, then I can't recommend this tuturial enough. Very easy to follow, and very easy to make yourself. I plan to make lots more!
