Still haven't found a real tree. They are in the shops, but so far there hasn't been anything suitable. My fault entirely, I have a certain shape in mind, and I'm sure the husband is getting fed up of holding up tress and having me sneer 'no, too small', 'no, too spindly', 'no, too big' etc. etc. etc.! The right one is out there, and we'll find it later on this week.
At least I did some 'stocking filler' shopping online yesterday. I really do believe it's all completely done now! Hurrah!

I've been putting out little vignettes to spread a bit of festive feeling (I still haven't rootled about in the garage to find lights, decs, trees, and neither have I found a home for the massive pink paper balls I got recently. How did I get so behind with decorating?!), the one on the mantelpiece is simple but my favourite. The NOEL letters are in the centre, and on the other side I have a tiny real tree. We're off into town this afternoon to show Gorgeous Girl the Christmas lights, so I'll buy some ribbon or net to shape into tiny ribbons to decorate the tiny tree with. I bought it to put under the glass cloche in the kitchen, but it was too big (!), I didn't want to butcher it - though I will trim it into more of a tree shape soon - so I put it outside in the front garden and draped some lights over it. Then I changed my mind, and decided to stick it in a champagne bucket and have it inside the house. :o)

Of course, the advent calendar I made Little One is up and in use. I couldn't find any tiny Father Christmas chocs this year, so have had to make do with some Cadbury chunks and gold coins. (The Kinder Father Christmas at the bottom is stuck on with double sided pads. I was so intent on sticking it on well that I managed to crush the chocolate inside the wrapper into a million teeny pieces!) I've put it up just slightly out of her reach, or I'd walk into the kitchen and find nothing but wrappers and a chocolate covered child!
