the start of Christmas

A bit early perhaps, but I'm starting to decorate for Christmas. Not too much yet, just little touches. I found some pretty little bottle brush trees in Sainsbury's on Saturday, and didn't want to put them away (and forget about them, which is very likely). So, I got out the Noel letters, and dotted the trees amongst them.
The husband recently asked me to write a list of possible Christmas pressie. While I write 'to-do' lists every single day, I really dislike this 'present list' idea - so much so that when we got married we did not have a wedding list. But I do like to make up montages. I put together a montage of pictures of things that I'd like. It's more fun to do, and he knows that I don't expect everything on there, it just gives him lots of ideas, right down to the colours or style of things. If you are like me, and can't bear the idea of writing a list, then this is a nice alternative. Glitter optional! I've been finishing off bits and pieces, including the gift tags. You may recall I bought a stash of handmade place setting cards to use. I glued on some tiny crowns and keys, then glued on a border using white glitter for just a touch of sparkle. A hole punched on one edge and then a piece of ribbon tied through finished them off. My favourite You Tube cook has a recipe for the [Easiest Cookies EVER]. I decided to give them a try, and have to say that they really are easy peasy. So if you are looking for simple biccie recipe to follow, give this a try. Perfect if you are short of time but really want to make something homemade. I just love watching this lady cook, she's so watchable. I love her accent, and her nails always look so nicely manicured. She and her Frankie are so entertaining, they should have their own TV show!
Gorgeous Girl and I made the cookies yesterday afternoon, while the rain thrashed down outside. Here are how ours turned out. Actually, it's only half, the other half were still cooling down when I took this photo.Even though it's rainy, I need to get outside and put up the rest of the outdoor lights this week. I've been slack and only done half. Then I want to get creative. I bought this little pack of beads in tiny jars in 'The Range' recently. No idea what I'm going to do with them, the beads will be removed and put somewhere else, then I'm going to try and think of something festive to do with the tiny little jars.
