After days of non stop rain, I wasn't sure if I'd ever get a chance to get outside and finish off putting up the lights. On Monday evening, after another day of rain, the sky turned clear and looked like this. Beautiful. Just like a painting. It signified the start of a cold but dry week. Perfect for getting the lights out. Yey! Each day, when Little One has gone for her Rest & Relaxation Time (she doesn't always want to nap, but she does like to have some relaxing time), I've popped out to the front garden and got on with the lights.

More about that later. First of all, I must show you what I've made today. A little wreath to go on the mirror in the living room. So pretty. I completely snaffled the idea from [Gabrielle] - thanks Gabrielle! As soon as I saw the one she had made, I knew I had to make one myself. I thought it would be perfect to have on the mirror, as it was so lightweight and just such a wonderful idea. I'm not sure if it's completely finished yet. I need to attach the bow, and it might need a flower or two. Not sure yet, but I'm very pleased with it as it is, so I may well leave it plain and simple.

Once I'd finished it I thought it looked a bit like a vintage hat. I couldn't resist trying it on to see how it would look! Outside, and out to the front garden now. The front door has been bedecked with wreath, lights and bows. Are there too many bows? Perhaps, but I like it. I love the little Doves on there. I've attached a little wreath of jingle bells on the garden gate. I really love opening the door and seeing the lollipop trees covered in lights. The bows are made from strips of organza. To add a bit of structure, I've pushed wire through one of the hemmed sides, just so I could be sure the bows would sit upright and not just flop.

We had a door and window put in the side wall of the garage recently, so of course I had to make a wreath to put on that door too. This wall faces the house, so it's what we see when looking out of the front windows. I wanted it to be pretty to look at. Usually I have just a string of lights going across the wall (usually lots of climbing plants cover the wall), but this time I've twisted lights around the Wisteria. Looks very lovely. I am extremely pleased with the wreath on the door, because I made it totally from scratch. You can see the 'how to' photos [here] So all lights are in place. I'll show more photos next week, once they are all on at the same time.
