If, like me, you hold on to empty Bonne Maman jam jars or tins that are just too pretty to throw away, then here is a rather sweet idea that I like to do.
Pop your jam jar in the tin, fill the jar with water and use as a vase.
I think it looks quirky and fun, but it's also a nice way of making use of the empty tin. If you do it, please remember to use a jam jar inside the tin as tins are not waterproof and will most likely go rusty. You might notice the tiny teacup beside it. Well, the sole use for Tiny Teacup is as a candle holder. I use a normal votive candle (by Yankee or Colony) and pop it in the teacup. Once lighted, you can see the flame flicker through the bone china.

I'm an avid collector of teacups, large and small, so I'm always using them for other things. My favourite way to use oversized teacups is as a vase for short cut flowers and I have a few set aside specifically for that reason.
My gorgeous pink oversized teacup is used as a small mixing bowl when I need it in the kitchen. Dudley the cat has his drinking water in an oversized lavender coloured teacup. Perhaps he's the only cat in the world who uses a teacup??!! I use regular sized teacups to serve desserts in, and sometimes, I even drink tea from them! ;o)
