Velcro holds the top flap to the main body of the cover. Basically, after my little girl goes for her nap, and I've tidied up, done any ironing and anything else that needs doing, I have roughly an hour to get on with sewing or reading. That's my little slice of time during the day. This explains why things often look a bit hurried, but at least I get to make them, I just don't have the luxury of loads of time make them in. And it's all good practice.
I must show you the lining, which I decided was vital to help diffuse the heat, one piece of fabric just would not have been sufficient.
I want to say it's an old tea towel, but the truth is it's a new tea towel that I just thought was too pretty to use for drying up pots and pans. I think it looks great as lining, and as you can see, I've used my 'soon to become a trademark' little British flag in there too. No projects on the cards today, tapestry work calls. I did do some sewing of it yesterday, and now I'm keen to do more. Just as well really, I managed to break the needle of the sewing machine and haven't replaced it yet.
