glass & string: a new love!

If you read my tweets, then you would have seen me tweet this photo, of jars of herbs.
Shop bought growing herbs, placed in the jars that I'd used for the vinegar cleaner disaster.
The string tied around the top idea came from a florists' website. I thought it was such a cute idea.

I've continued it, by winding string around bottles that I use as vases too.

It's not earth shatteringly genius, but I absolutely love the look. And, how nice it would be to do this as a present for someone?

I particularly like these little bottles, because I am just itching to get my paws on the [tiny milk bottles] I've bought to use at The Girls birthday party. Once they've been used, I'll keep some for drinking, but some will become vases.
Until then, I'm happy to use these teeny bottles. Found them on Friday whilst doing the weekly shop. Husband loves tomato juice, so I buy it for him. Usually they only have it in tiny tins or massive bottles, I was rather pleased to find this size.
The string doesn't have to be neat. Just wind it round, tie in a bow or a knot.

I must mention the book you can see on the shelf. I'm thinking that most of you will know of [Cherry Menlove], and if not, why not?! She has a lovely blog and website. As well as sharing lots of pretty and cosy ideas, she is a very inspiring lady, and she's a mum of twins. I've no idea how she does it all. I really don't.
I've had her book on pre-order since I knew about it, it finally arrived on Thursday.
I read it cover to cover in one afternoon, and am going to read it again this week. There are lots of reasons to enjoy it, but personally, I love it because I adore books that celebrate the seasons. This book takes you through from spring, summer, autumn, to winter, with pretty ideas for the home and garden along the way.

It is just gorgeous.
Buy it!
Love it!
Let it inspire you!
You won't be disappointed. That's a promise.
