sunshine & showers, our summer so far

The end of the school year is drawing close, and it seems that everything is happening at once. Home and school life are both busy, The Girl and I are looking forward to school breaking up so we can enjoy the lazy days of summer - rain or shine!

Last week I was lucky enough to tag along on a school trip to a local farm. The day was hot and humid, but the farm was beautiful. A reminder of how lovely the world can be.   There has been a lot of rain this summer, it's true. Sports Day was cancelled earlier this week, after a night of heavy rain and storms. There have also been days dry and sunny enough to get out in the garden, to pick roses and gather and freeze the redcurrants. Sky in the evening is full of cloud and colour. And I am apparently addicted to eating avocados! The girl has had birthday parties to go to, and more still to attend over the coming weeks. In a nutshell, life is good! And it will be even better when I have my little Girly Girl here with me for a full six weeks. Just one more week to get through, and then school is out for summer. Can't wait!
