Today we have spent a glorious day. Doing nothing in particular, and staying close to home. We've been to some of the places we just love to visit. I think it has been my most favourite Christmas Eve ever.
We started with a quick visit to this place.
Earlier in the week, the husband had bought a chicken for us to have tomorrow. It was teeny tiny, so while perfectly ok, there would be very little in the way of leftovers. I don't want a massive amount of leftovers, but I do want something. I laughed that it was a chicken worthy of Dickens' Cratchit family. We thought it was good to have in the fridge, but if the we happened upon a better one then we'd get that instead.
We were able to get a very decent chicken in the SFH, which I will roast with the bacon we bought at Jimmy's farm.
And, just for me, there is a tiny panettone to scoff too. (The girl and the husband aren't fans!)
Afterwards we toodled off to a pub for lunch. If you were ever a fan of the 'Lovejoy' series then you may well recognize it, as it was featured quite a lot.
Now we're all ready for a visit from the Big F.C.
The tray of food is in place (since taking this photo we've added some Elf donuts). All he has to do now is turn up!
Enjoy tomorrow.
