the blue chair

I said yesterday that I would live with the pink chair for a while, before painting any more. Well, my little Sweet Pea was so taken with the chair when she came home from school, that she asked if I would paint one blue.

So I did. I really love how pretty the mismatched chairs look, and of course it's cost nothing to do as I've used the paint left over from the garden chairs revamp. It's also really quick to do. As I scuff the paint afterwards I really don't bother about painting the colour too solidly. If the white shows through, that's fine by me, I like the way it looks. I've spent some time out in the garden today too. Adding a pitcher of daisies to the veranda of Gingerbread House, giving it a good clean inside, and changing over the curtains for summer. The warm-with-scarcely-any-rain weather that we've been having since waaay too early has meant the veggie garden is already producing nicely. Look at how full the raised bed looks. And the sunflowers! Wow. I have never had such success with sunflowers as I am having this year. They're going to be huge! Can't wait for the pea pods to swell. I would like to think I'll cook the peas for dinner one night, but it's far more likely that I'll just sit in the garden one afternoon and eat them straight from the pod! The Fairy Tower has had a little change too. We decided there was too much of the one colour, so painted the roof a very gorgeous pale green. It looks lovely against all of the foliage. Yeah, it's safe to say we are fond of splodging a bit of paint around in this house!
I have things to get on with indoors too. The cardboard letters arrived today, and I am delighted with them. They need to be painted and glued together, and I already know I'm going to buy more. For just £1.99 each they are excellent value. I also bought an embroidery hoop, making [flat roses] will be a whole lot easier and quicker.
