lilacs and paint
With the weather being so warm and sunny, the garden furniture has been taken from the garage and placed in the garden.
The husband and I decided the table looked shabby, but most certainly not chic.
So out came the garden paint, and the husband spent the afternoon painting.
With the warmth, the paint soon dried, and now the table looks much improved.
Of course, the chairs need a bit of a freshen up too. I mentioned last week how much I liked the look of pastel coloured mis matched chairs. I showed the husband the photo from '[Victoria]' magazine, and he liked what he saw. So that's next on the list. I'd still like to do the same with the kitchen chairs too.
My little helper gave me a helping hand when setting up the table for my photo shoot. The blossom has been stunning this year, but you can see by her hair, it's already starting to fall. I probably made a mistake by showing her how to shake the branches to make it fall like confetti, but I used to do that when I was a little girl and wanted to pass it on! I shall miss the blossom so much. I love seeing the froth of pale pink, and it smells nice too.
Ordinarily, a photo with this kind of hazy sunlight wouldn't exist until June. It really is unseasonably sunny.
I know everyone is enjoying the early sunshine, but we need rain soon. Or the usual summer hosepipe ban will start even earlier.
We have two water butts, one in the back garden, and one behind the garage in the front garden. Both are dry as a bone. A good downfall would fill them up nicely, as well as give the garden a much needed drink.
The lilac is just beautiful too. Wish it could last through both spring and summer.
I've got another garden project to show you later this week. A quirkly little idea that I'm really pleased with. Just need to finish it off first.
