It's been quite a week. This week our lovely little girl became a school girl. I didn't expect any dramatics from her, and there wasn't any. I was able to walk her in, hang up her coat, kiss her goodbye and leave. She barely gave me a glance as I walked out of school.
I'm so proud of her. She's settled in nicely and comes home happy (but not tired or worn out. Absolutely everyone in the world told me that she'd be tired out at the beginning, but I knew this wouldn't apply to my little rascal. She has A LOT of energy!).
It's tougher on the Mum than the child when it comes to starting school, but when they are happy and take it in their stride, it makes it life so much easier than expected.
The Fairy Tower was due to be delivered today. I've been looking forward to it so much it's ridiculous.
Yesterday, a person from the shop it was purchased from called and left a message saying it was out of stock.
What???? It had been paid for, how could it be 'out of stock'?!!
When we bought it, the lady who dealt with the sale and made delivery arrangements wheeled the flatpacked tower out to the back of the shop. I said to her 'Don't let anyone else take that one' she said 'no, it's yours, it's got your name on it'.
So, how annoying is it to have a call THE DAY BEFORE it's due to arrive, saying it was 'out of stock' when it had been put away as a purchased item? Suffice to say, neither husband nor I were happy, and by close of play, it was sorted that a tower - minus packaging, but who cares about that? - would be delivered TODAY. Honestly, this was pretty shoddy customer service.
That shoddy service was more than made up by the arrival, when two of the most helpful delivery men I've ever met, took the pieces out of the van and then proceeded to help me check and make sure all the pieces were there. Much appreciated, I can tell you.
So here it is. Our soon to be Fairy Tower.
I've been buying a few finishing touches for it online, and though I am sorely tempted to show you one item in particular, I think I'll wait until it arrives.
The husband will be busy!
There's a bit of a wedding tomorrow. I'm sure both William and Catherine read my blog (!), so I shall wish them a very happy day. Whatever the weather throws at them!
