The weather outside is frightful

Well, not exactly frightful, really rather pretty and delightful actually.
Gorgeous Girl has enjoyed striding around in the snow filled garden, and making tiny snowmen. I love winter because I really enjoy bundling up in fake fur and hats. I have a decent stash of hats, but I'm always on the lookout for a new one. I usually decorate them with my homemade velvet roses, or a rose corsage.

So while the snow has fallen silently outside, I've kept myself busy with a very easy to do hat makeover. Mainly to keep myself from scoffing a load of biccies with my never ending cups of tea.
This week I have bought a new hat, and a few flowery hairbands and corsages. I was so taken with them, that I bought two of each. The rose corsage can be used as a hairclip or brooch, it has both attachments on the back, the crochet corsage was attached to elastic to be used as a hairband. I took one and snippped off the elastic. I always have brooch pins in the house, you can buy them from craft shops and they're usually around 20p - 50p each. You can buy them in different sizes and finishes. I stitched it to the back of the flower, but you could just as easily use glue if you don't care for sewing. It doesn't have to be perfect, no one will see it.

And then you have a brooch, to pin on a hat, scarf, coat or bag. Simple as that. It's so pretty. I will use my second one for its intended use, as a hairband.
* Hat ~ £3. Crochet corsage hairband ~ £1.50. Pink rose brooch/hair clip ~ £2. All by Primark!
