For the love of Pom Poms!

I can't remember how we got onto this subject, but recently Gorgeous Girl and I were talking about pom poms (as you do!), and I told her that I used to make them when I was a little girl.

She immediately started hassling me to make her one lots.

It's been a l-o-n-g time since I made them, but they are so simple it's something you never forget. I love how quick and easy they are to make so much, that it's becoming a bit of an addiction.
Love this stage, it's almost done and snipping through the wool makes it look just like a little macaroon! Then *ta-da* finished! Gorgeous Gril was so pleased with the pom poms, she went totally loopy and batted them around the house just like a kitten!

I made two smaller ones because my Little Flower asked me to put them on her slippers.
Confession
the above photo is a slight fib. They aren't actually the indoor slippers she wears at the moment, they are identical, but they are new ones. I used them because they were nice and new and cleaner than the ones she shuffles around in. I pinned the pom poms in place! I bought them because they were reduced to a great price, and a size or two larger. Yep, I'm the kind of Mum who snaps up a bargain for her child to 'grow in to'! I swear I will NEVER do that with clothing though. I promise.

These are her current slippers - complete with pom poms stitched on - in their usual place at the foot of the stairs. Shabby and dirty, faded, scuffed and well worn. It's a sight I never tire of seeing :o)
