Watching the peonies bought on Saturday open, and revealing they were white, and not pale pink as I'd thought was a lovely surprise, as white flowers are my favourite. I added some carnations to them, I love the frothy petals together.
The beautiful rambling rose is starting to burst into flower in the back garden. The scrumptious red roses are a welcome sight each year.
I have been able to do a little bit of online shopping, nothing too extravagent. First thing I bought was a balloon from [Balloon Monkey] for Gorgeous Girl. They are such a treat for children to receive in the post. Well worth the money.
This will sound totally stupid, because quite clearly it isn't a real cat, but when I walk into a room and see the cat standing there, I jump out of my skin thinking some strange cat has got in. Then I realise it's just a balloon and my cheeks burn at being fooled again.
The Gorgeous One loves Yankee candles as much as her Mummy, so we ordered a few new ones to add to our stash. I try to select a range of fragrances, so I can choose one to suit my mood or the weather.
I love the smell of the drawer where the candles are kept, and try to keep a goodly stock of votives and tarts at all times. Nothing like the scent of a scrummy candle to lift the mood. And for me, I have a boxed set of dvd's. I love Margaret Rutherford as Miss Marple, and this set contains my favourite 'Murder most Foul'. Utterly brilliant. Available at an extrememly good price on Amazon.
It might not be wise to buy an interior design book when we have so many unfinished projects, but I couldn't resist ordering this one. I hope it will be here by the weekend.
Just a few little things that make me happy, although the thing that makes me happiest of all is a smile from my Gorgeous Girl, and hearing her say 'I loves you mummy'. Best thing in the world :o)
