simple idea

I really like heart wreaths made from moss and dried roses, but I don't like the prices. Which explains why I've never bought one.

In [Dunelm-Mill] yesterday I spotted a small, undecorated moss heart. I always have a decent stash of dried roses, which I dry out by hanging upside down and leaving to dry. I'm particularly pleased with the ones seen in this photo, as they've retained the colour really well. I dried these by hanging them upside from the centre light in the kitchen for several weeks.

Nothing difficult here. You just trim the roses down so you have only the heads, then glue them on to the moss wreath. If you have a glue gun that would be even better. I used normal craft glue, so to hold the rose heads in place while they dried, I pushed long pins through them very carefully. I also added some lavender here and there.
The finished article. Very sweet.
This easy peasy craft was brought to you for the princely sum of ... .. which was the cost of the base.

Just 'because', I thought I'd show you what Ruby is wearing at the moment. I love this dress. I wore it at a wedding 5 years ago. The purple fake fur wrap (tied at the back instead of the front) I bought just a couple of years ago, it cost under £10 at the very end of the winter sales (instead of the £50 it was meant to be originally. I don't set out to sale shop and just happened to find it at the end of the sale!), the vintage hat I bought last year. I just love how it all looks together. I really enjoy putting outfits together and having them on display like this.
