Dear old Primark, with its cheap as chips 'junk jewellery' (which is what my mum calls it!)
I took this little stash, costing £3 in total (£1 for the bracelet bundle, £2 for the earrings)..
...and refashioned into a necklace.
I really need to work on making my loops on the links much neater, but it's something that I'm sure will improve over time. Best of all, I have lots of beads and sparkles left over for making something else.I have been sent the same award by two ladies. Thank you so much [Betty] and [Mama Fey] for being king enough to send it my way. I must apologise to Mama Fey, who sent it to me a few weeks ago, I really am rubbish at adding this kind of thing.
As part of it, I have to share 7 things about me. Sounds easy, but it has been churning in my mind all day long. What to share? Well, it goes without saying that my family and our good health are top of any list, so I'll try to think of other things to share.1. I don't drive and have no intention of doing so, even though people think I'm a total freak because of it! I walk everywhere and I think it's good for Gorgeous Girl to do it too!
2. I cherish being a Mum because it took so long to happen. For a very long time I didn't think it would ever happen, when it did it was the best surprise after what had been a very hard year after two of my nephews were involved in an horrendous accident.
I am very protective of my daughter, and prefer to keep her name and face away from the 'net. Which explains why I refer to her as 'Gorgeous Girl' or 'Humbug' instead of her name, and why I am happy to share a photo like this ..
.. but wouldn't share a photo that shows her face clearly. She's wearing her Easter present! She chose a 'Little Miss Muffet' dressing up outfit, and it is so pretty. She asked me to make a spider to go with it, so I've spent the past 15 minutes or so making this character!
It's quite big, I'm not particularly keen on spiders so it keeps scaring me! Pathetic! 3. I don't like rudeness in real life or online. It never ceases to amaze me how rude people can be when hiding behind a computer.
4. I am a total shoe addict. I am not going to tell you how many pairs I own, so don't ask!!! Recently, the lovely Charl of Pretty Vintage showed photos of her divine shoes. When I happened to be in the shop from which they came yesterday I took a peek to see if they had them in stock. They did, one pair in my size, and the right amount of cash in my handbag. I had total shoe lust and had to get them, after all, it was serendipity that they had just one pair in my size isn't it?
I adore them. They're actually a very pale pink, but I've washed the photo in sepia so you can't tell. They are total agony to wear, so it's highly likely I won't wear them very much, but ooh, they are so lovely! 5. I don't feel dressed unless I'm wearing perfume. I have many favourites and change my scent seasonally, but more often than not I'll be in Chanel.
6. I adore flowers and have to have fresh ones in the house at all times. Roses are my favourite, especially cut from my own garden.
7. I am happiest when it's raining.
There you are. I now have to nominate other people for this award, so I will suggest Charl, from Pretty Vintage and Morwenna of Bluebells & Butterflies, but with the suggestion that only if you have time and not to feel obliged to add it. I hate to pass this kind of thing on and make people feel that they 'have' to add them to their diary.
