The house is back to normal once more, and I have my flowers back on the windowsill in the living room. Roses and tulips. The reason I don't feel regretful at taking decorations down is because I always have new ideas and plans for Christmas yet to come! No doubt I will be sharing more of that as and when I work on the ideas. It's also nice to have a really good clean up, Christmas tends to feel a bit messy after a few weeks, and I do miss seeing flowers on the windowsill. When the tree sits in the bay window it wouldn't look right to stick a vase of flowers in there too!I have pink tulips in a vase, and we have snow on the ground! It started to snow on New Year's Eve,and it's still here. It's so cold outside. I went outside to take down the lights in the garden, and all of my little family came out to help, bundled up warmly. The task was soon done, and after another clean and tidy up inside the house, I went back out to clean the windows. Crikey, it was cold. In just that short time the temperature had dropped noticeably. It's going to be a cold week.
I've been busy ordering and buying bits for future projects. I have 4 that I want to start working on during this month. Luckily, they are either no sew ideas, or sewing that is simple enough to do by hand. This is important at the moment because I have managed to mess up my sewing machine. It had to happen, I'm such a clumsy oaf. I wouldn't have minded had I been trying to sew very tough fabric, but I was only hemming a tea towel I'd cut in half so my little girl could use it with her little play kitchen. With a bit of luck I can sort it out myself, but if not, the excellent haberdashers in town do sewing machine repairs, so I can leave it with them to sort out.
So I've had a great time buying pink net, cord, fabric, sequins and other bits and pieces. Some of it has been ordered online, once it turns up I can get started.
I love planning and getting ready to start new projects!
