Winter wonderland

There's something about snowfall that makes your home look just perfect.
It started snowing last night. It was windy too, scary, almost blizzard like at times. I can see by the photo, that one of my organza bows has been ripped from the porch light! In my head I see it just like the scene from Home Alone, when it's the night before they race to the airport, and there are scenes of wind blowing around the front of the house. A bow is ripped off a lamp post by the wind, so I envision my bow being ripped off in the same way, complete with music playing in the background. I'll have to wait for the snow to melt before looking for it.

Photos from early this morning .. I love the way this country immediately can't cope with a bit of snow. Schools shut and people can't get into work. Everything grinds to a halt. It's only because everyone wants to stay home and build snowmen!

The view from a back bedroom window, Dudley being pathetic, Gorgeous Girl legging it around the garden, and the cup of tea I took out with us. Gorgeous Girl couldn't wait to go outside and play. Dudley was less keen. If you look closely, you can see his paw up as if about to push the door open, and his mouth open in complaint! I must admit though, that I failed to build a snowman. My excuse was the snow was too powdery (true) but the absolute truth was that I didn't want to because it was so cold!

The wreath on the door of GG's playhouse, and an icicle on a fairy light. Very easy to create this wreath. It's a simple fake garland wreath, into which I've added rosemary, varigated foliage and twigs sprayed white. A bow and a birdhouse (tree decoration) finish it off nicely. Takes minutes to do. I love this photo of Mr Robin on the snowy branches. He was all puffed up to try and keep warm. Don't worry, I've sorted out the bird baths and put out a lot of crumbs for him and the rest of the birdies that visit the garden.Yours truly. Now you can put a face to the name. Boots off, trying to get toasty again. I think we may well get a bit more snow this afternoon, the light has changed - it was bright and sunny earlier on - now the sky looks full and grey. It's unlikely the snow will last until Christmas, but it will be back again at some point afterwards. It's felt like an early Christmas pressie!
