I might not be a huge fan of Halloween, but my little girl is. Not everything Halloween, mainly pumpkins. We are stocked up with pumpkins, ready to carve next week, and this morning whilst wandering around 'Toys R Us' I spotted this pumpkin garland. They look really pretty hanging up in the dining room. 
During the week she spotted some spider cakes in a magazine, and wanted to make some. Today I made sure I bought enough ingredients for some cakes, and this afternoon we got busy.
Not too bad, even if I do say so myself!
I am trying hard to be better at cake decorating, it's not my strong point. I'm gathering lots of pretty cake cases, decorations and other bits and pieces to encourage me to make more of an effort. That said, I'm quite pleased with the little marzipan spiders and beetles! 
My fingertips and nails are now stained with black food colouring gel. The gel is a new find for me, and I have to say how brilliant I think it is. Much, MUCH better than the liquid colouring.
