It's been quite a creative week here at home. I've completed three short projects, the sort that doesn't take up too much time and are good to do 'as and when' the mood takes you. Firstly. I always have lists of things to do, because if I don't write things down I will forget them. I usually keep them in a folder that I have in the kitchen, but decided to buy a clip board to use too.
Trouble was, the bright bluey-green colour hurt my eyes! Not to worry, I just got some pretty fabric out of my stash and glued it to the board. Instructions are not needed, everyone knows how to cover books, boxes, boards and files. Where it was tricky to get the fabric to sit neatly I did my best to make it look as nearly-neat as possible. Once dried, I cheated and glued black lace around the edge to hide any dodgy bits, it neatened it up a lot and added extra prettiness.
I mentioned that I was going to be working on some 'out of season' crafts. The first 'OOS Craft' was to finish the goose eggs I use at Easter. I must point out that I'm not a massively over the top organised person, but as I'd recently got my hands on a goose egg that I did not want to forget about or crush, I thought I'd get it ready for next Easter. I already had three that I decorated several years ago, so thought I'd give those a new look too.

The finished article ....
They've been put in a box and are safely in the garage, ready for next year. The last project is something that I'm trying out for this Autumn. I have no idea where I saw this idea, all I can tell you is that I saw it sometime over the past few weeks, but can't remember if it was in a magazine, book or on the 'net. It isn't my original idea.
I don't decorate for Halloween, but I do decorate for Autumn by having pumpkins and apples displayed in both home and garden. My favourite pumpkins to use are the white ['Snowman'] pumpkins. I couldn't find any in the shops last year, so had to make do with orange pumpkins and butternut squash. I have seen pumpkins that have been painted and decorated with glitter and vintage style adornments, and thought how clever and pretty. Pumpkins aren't available here just yet, so I bought a butternut squash and decided to try it out with that.
I mixed cream paint with dark grey paint until I got a colour I was happy with. Then I painted the squash and left to dry. Once dried, I glued glitter on the stalk (not that you can tell from the photo!) and added some ribbon and some tiny millinery flowers.
I won't go overboard with this idea, but I think that one or two decorated pumpkins nestled amongst natural pumpkins will look rather pretty this Autumn. When I get inspired to do something, I just have to get on and do it. That's why I have written about Christmas in Springtime, and am rattling on about Easter in almost Autumn. When you feel the urge to get creative, it's best to get on with it and go with the flow!
*For anyone in the UK interested in the 'Home' letters in the first photo, get yourself down to good old[Dunelm Mill] if you have one nearby. The ceramic set costs just £7.99, which is an amazing price. I've been searching on the 'net for these and couldn't find any for less than £15. (You can find them in with the candles and vases.)*
