Summer in England

Even though summer is my least favourite of the four seasons, I can find some things to enjoy about it. Picking flowers from my garden being the main thing that I love about this time of year.

A close second to picking homegrown flowers, is picking fruit and veggies fresh from the garden. I've already been able to pick lettuces, and if those rotten slugs leave them alone, I should be able to pick tomatoes, runner beans, french beans, blueberries, strawberries, mange tout and a butternut squash later this season. Nothing beats being about to step outside and pick food that you've grown yourself (or had a little help from the garden centre, by way of tiny plants that you nurture and grow!).

So ladies, put away your crafty bits & pieces, step away from the computer and go and enjoy the flowers!
