Easter flowers & eggs

I made fabric eggs earlier this year, but wasn't sure where I was going to put them. I didn't want to put them outside because you never know what British weather will do at Springtime and I didn't want them getting soaked and going mouldy. Last Easter we had a thick blanket of snow, so anything is possible.

When I arranged the lilies in the jug I was given as my Mother's Day pressie, I had a brainwave. I got some branches of blossom in tiny bud (would love the blossom to open, but I am doubtful) and added to the lilies, then hung the eggs on the branches.

Here it is. Nice and simple. :O)

++ added on 6th April. I didn't think this was worth a new post on it's own,but I wanted to share it with you. I decided that it would be sweet to use the little egg cup vases as place settings on Sunday. Each egg has different coloured glitter to give a colourful spring like feel to the table, and this morning I twisted wire to make little card holders. I won't even try to explain in detail how I did it as it would not make sense, but basically you take a length of pliable wire and bend so you have two loops (the card slots in between). Twist the wire 'legs' of the rest of the wire and cut to size, and *ta da* they are done. I've tied a thin piece of ribbon in a bow on the wire, just for added girliness. Push the card in amongst the flowers, and the place setting is complete. I think it's a nice Eastery and fun touch for the table. Oh, and the blossom on the branches in the top photo is starting to open. It is looking so pretty.
