A woman's prerogative ..

.. is to change her mind. For the past six years or so, there has been a black and gold framed mirror on a bedroom wall. I'd gone off it, so wanted to change it.

Today I finished off working on the mirror, this is how it looks now. I'm very pleased. I had hoped to show you the mirror with a freshly wallpapered background, but I've searched high and low for the roll of Laura Ashley wallpaper that I bought 2 years ago. I can't find it, so I am having a lovely time trying to choose a new one. Once I've wallpapered the wall, I will show you again. It's the place where a TV and books are kept. It'll look nice wallpapered with a pretty floral paper.

This is the second time I've painted the mirror. Last November I painted it a beige colour and splodged little flowers and leaves around it. The flowers were rubbish close up, but from a distance they looked ok(ish). The flowers looked fine when I had plain fairy lights around the mirror, but when I got my flower lights it just wasn't right, it seemed too fussy. That's why I decided to paint it the creamy white colour instead, I wanted the flowers to stand out more, which is what they do now.
If you have a framed mirror that you think you don't like or have gone off, why not try painting it? The chances are it will look fine, and give it a new lease of life. Be bold and give it a try!

I got outside and changed over the seasonal display on the bench in the front garden. I love to change it with the seasons, by which I mean changing the pots of plants on the bench and beside it. It was very spring like today, so it needed to be changed accordingly. It's quite subtle, but it's nice. The colours look really washed out in this picture, but the small rectangle on the left of the picture is filled with pink primroses. They are bright and beautiful in real life. I love sitting out there when it's just starting to get dark.

Had a lovely pressie in the post today, for my little girl. The most fabulous handmade bag from Sharon, at [Clover Cottage]
It is so pretty, my little girl was delighted when she saw it. Sharon had included a couple of little goodies for me too, so we were both spoilt! :O)
