My stash of Country Living from the past year, and books that I don't want my daughter to get hold of and rip up or draw over! I am quite a hoarder of magazines. I refuse to get rid of any of my copies of Vogue, Martha Stewart Living, Mary Engelbreit Home Companion or Victoria magazines. They are all safely stored away. I have to be sensible though, or risk the house becoming over run with towering stacks of magazines. When it comes to Country Living, I let myself keep some copies that I can't bear to get rid of or cut up, but the rest are kept for a year, before I go through and cut out any pictures I want to keep or decide to give to my doctors for the waiting room. It's not always easy to do, but I make myself do it. This works pretty well for me, I have several 'Never Going to Get Rid Of' copies, but I don't have a massive overflowing pile of them. I've already made a start of going through last years CL mags, and have been making montages galore from them!I added the Union Jack cushion today.

My daughters silver bracelet that she wore at her Christening, along with a little cup given to her by my Mother In Law. I like to have candles in the cupboard so the cupboard smells nice when the doors are opened.
My Gorgeous Girls little baby shoes! The first shoes she ever wore. I remember buying these from Marks & Spencer for her. I can't believe how small they seem now.

I fell in love with it and had to have it. After the wedding it was stashed in a box in a drawer. Which is totally pointless when you think about it. If you have something that holds happy memories and is beautiful to look at, then it should be somewhere where you can look at it every day. It's sitting on top of an empty chocolate box of my favourite choccies. The empty box makes me smile too, it's so pretty and the chocs were lovely (and pink!). My point is, we all have 'stuff' that is precious to us, but I bet most of us have it stashed away where we can't see it. If you have somewhere in your home where you can display your treasures, then it's nice to do so. Even if it's just a small corner of a shelf to display your favourite cup or brooch. A gorgeous bag hung on a door handle or the end of your bed is just as nice. I think we are too good at putting things away, but some things are so beautiful they should be seen and admired.
I can't help but smile when I walk into the dining room and see my big 'box of treasures'. Much nicer than having nothing but books in there!
I shall end by showing you my latest montage. No reason for this one, just looks that I liked, already have, or plan to do (notice the dressing table!).
