It's a week of Things I want To Do.
On my list are:
* making two Valentine's cards for the Husband. One from me, and one from the Little Daddie's girl. ;o)
* making a cardboard box 'seed box'. I saw one on Martha Stewart's website, and it's something that I really *need* to have. At the moment my packets of seeds are in a plastic folder, but that's too dull. I need a pretty flowery box. I made a recipe box in May 2007, and plan to make the seed box in the same way. I'll post photos of both later on.
* A book mark. I am terrible, and use any old scrap of scuzzy paper to use as a bookmark. When out blog hopping a month or so ago, I saw a really lovely idea. It set my mind whirring and I've finally dug out a few items needed. It won't take long to make them - just need some of that precious time - and if I can find the blog the idea came from, I will link it up.
* Continue working on my flower tapestry. It's starting to take shape now.
* Revamping a coat. This is a tricky one, and I'm not sure that I really want to do it. It would mean cutting up an old brown fake fur coat that I no longer wear, to use as trimming on one of my favourite coats. Trouble is I still like the fake fur (even though I don't wear it!) and the thought of cutting it up practically stops me from breathing. However, if I can do bear to do it, it would mean more space in my wardrobe and a newly revamped coat. Decisions, decisions.
One idea that burst into my head while I was on snow watch last night, was for a rose and feather fascinator. I made an oversized velvet rose a few weeks ago, and said how it would work well as a fascinator. In the wee hours of this morning, I suddenly remembered the white feathers that I'd bought with the intention of wearing on my wedding day (just over 4 years ago). At the last minute I changed my mind about the feathers. I had a 'Victoria Beckham' moment in the bridal shop when picking up my dress, and bought a tiny little crown instead.
I digress.
It meant I didn't use the feathers, but did I still have them? I hunted around this morning and found them. Then I made a two pink velvet roses, one large and one normal size, attached them to an alice band, and *ta da* a fascinator was born.

It looks better in the flesh. I just need a wedding to go to now. Actually, I'll just wear it on days when I need a little floral 'zing'! Considering how much I want to do this week, I was maybe a tiny bit rash in asking for this book as my Valentine's pressie this year.
It's got some lovely ideas in it, some that I will definitely be trying out.
