Here I am modelling it.
I've stitched it to a hair slide (the sort florists use to attach flowers to in bridal headpieces), so if I change my mind and want to use it as an oversized brooch, it would be simple to do. At the moment I love having it as decoration for my hair. I think it would work really well as a little fascinator for a wedding or Christening. I'd add a little bit of net to it, to add extra drama. Maybe I'll do that anyway!I've got some cropped jeans for when the weather turns warmer. I love them, but thought they could use a feminine touch. I bought some lace, and am in the process of attaching it to the bottom of the cropped jeans. You can see here where I have pinned it in place, ready to be sewn. Again, it's something that can be removed easily if I change my mind about it, but I won't, I think it looks pretty.
All finished. I included scraps of lace on inner pockets on both front and back too.I just think it's nice to make the clothing I wear individual, and I think that something as simple as a lacy frill lifts the overall look, making it sweet and girly. To anyone reading this, why not take a look in your wardrobe right now, and see what tiny alteration you could make to one garment, to alter and freshen up the appearance. It doesn't have to be much, something as simple as changing the buttons is quick, easy and inexpensive. It's much cheaper to alter something you already have to make it feel new, than buy something new from the shops, and you don't need to be brilliant at sewing to do it either. As long as you can thread a needle and tie a knot you'll be fine. Have confidence, and have fun!
All I need now is for the days to warm up a bit so I can wear them
