I was thinking about the bags this morning (as you do!) and had a sudden ping in my mind. Why not make a scaled down little bag for my daughter? She always ends up with a little stash of shopping of her own, and this is a good way of keeping her goodies separate (instead of balancing them on the top of a full bag so I can find them), but also teaching her about reusing bags.
This is what I came up with. I photographed it in front of the CK bag, so you can see how small it is.
Yesterday I started making something for myself, but it went wrong. Not a problem though, as I was able to chop up the fabric to make the little shopping bag. As the fabric is quite thin, I've lined it too. It's so nice to be working on quick projects that suddenly ping into my mind, after all the 'serious' stuff I've been doing: the curtain making and reupholstering.
This is a little bit of fun.
Last year I bought a few metres of Union Jack ribbon. I've started cutting the little flags off and attaching to the items I make. Why not? It finishes it off nicely, and they are British made after all!
