Ikea, don't you just love it?
Yesterday, we got up nice and early and travelled down to Thurrock.
A trip to Ikea! Yesss! It has been far too long since we visited. The last time would have been before The Girl was born.
With the craft room changes under way, a visit to Ikea was vital. Along with the 'must have' items, there were a few 'ooh, can't leave that at that price' items too.
These were on my list. I've loved them since seeing them in various home design magazines and on a few blogs. I couldn't believe they still had them.
They're found in the kitchen section, with dinner plates and mugs. I bought four in total (two pink), and I'm using them as vases for now, but there are lots of things they could be used for. £1.69 each.
Pink candles. No way could I leave these behind.
The Girl was delighted to find they sold toys, and came away with a small teddy bear, and this ridiculous oversized strawberry.
Since when have Ikea sold food? Not the restaurant, the tiny food shop section. Perhaps they always have and I just never noticed.
I kept my focus, and remembered the point of our trip. This blurry photo captured the essence of the craft room. Sheer fabric, white furniture, flowers.
So when I happened upon these curtain drops, for just £5 a pair, I knew I'd found the window treatment. They are sheer netting, plain and simple. Absolutely perfect. I don't want heavy curtains. Sheer fabric is superb for giving a bright but slightly hazy glow to a room, can't think of anything better for a room where you want as much light as possible. Each curtain drop is 3 metres, so you simply cut the bottom to fit. No sewing required.
After selecting a few extra goodies, it was time to find my storage.
This afternoon, I'll be busy putting it together.
Things are starting to take shape nicely.
