A very sweet Christmas

I'm in Christmas prep mode at the moment, and thought I'd share something I've started planning for.

Something that I really love about Pinterest is that it gives me lots of inspiration. This is the latest picture that has my brain buzzing.
photo from [Trendy Tree].

I just love this tree. It's so full of sweeties and decorations that the tree beneath can barely be seen.

I've decided I would like to create a tree like this for Gorgeous Girl this year, with pink as the main colour.
I'm starting my prep early. I've got a little idea in the back of my mind that I'm going to make another tree for it, I don't want it to be massive, just a small tree that can sit on table. I'll make it in the same way as the [vintage trees] were made last year. I'm thinking of making it a pink tinsel tree for this project.

In the meantime I've been hunting down sweeties. I've found a website that sells boxes of swirly lollipops, they even have a section just for pink sweets. I made a very small start on my Christmas shopping yesterday, this is Christmas related too so I placed an order for the lollipops. The box contains 50, which should be enough!!!! Also ordered, a box of 50 candy necklaces! The plan is to cut them and restring to make garlands. And for a zing of colour, some blue lollipops. I've ordered just 5 of these. Well, don't want to have a lollipop overload do I?!! ;o) On Saturday in the supermarket I noticed that Christmas sweeties were out already. I'm going to need LOTS of sweeties if I'm going to recreate the full look of the tree, so each week I'll be stocking up at the Christmas sweetie section. I think I've made a really good start though!
I shall make gingerbread man biccies too. It is my plan that everything can be eaten, so biccies will need to be wrapped in cellophane before going on the tree to keep them fresh. I've ordered cellophane bags for that purpose.
The rainbow sweeties on the left of the photo are destined for the gingerbread house I'll bake this year. I may need to bake a few, as I like the idea of having them around the base of the tree.

I am really excited by this idea. I'm so glad I found it. I'd never have come up with it myself. It truly is a child's idea of the perfect tree!

Are you thinking about or planning for Christmas yet?
