I wish! Nope, these are my own home made attempt. Actually, I'm rather pleased with them as I've never tried making any kind of meringue before. I have already learned from a couple of mistakes. I tried to be too delicate and make them teeny tiny, they should have been slightly larger. And I used parchment paper instead of baking paper, which meant they stuck slightly when removing them. I bought parchment paper because the supermarket that Gorgeous Girl and I walked to this morning didn't have any baking paper. I'll get some on Saturday. A couple of action shots.
Whisking the egg whites. Very exciting if you've never done it before!
Mixing the egg whites with the rest of the ingredients, and a tiny touch of pink colouring.
Baked carefully in the oven, removed, cooled, stuck together a bit of Bonne Maman strawberry jam, and *ta-da*, a little treat has been created. I have wanted to try making these for ages. Not as difficult as I thought, and taking in the lessons learnt from today, I will happily make them again. I wouldn't normally wrap things in tissue paper, but these are so delicate and pretty that I couldn't help myself! Not telling you how many I have scoffed, so don't ask!
