A Royal cushion.

I woke up in the wee hours of this morning with a new idea buzzing around in my head. (This happens a lot!) An idea for a new cushion. I could not wait to start making it.
Even though the crown is a bit wonky (have you ever tried sewing velvet? It is not the easiest of fabrics to use!), I really like it. I've got a bit of a 'thing' about crowns and tiaras, so it had to happen really.
I know this is going to be the first of many. It was time consuming to stitch on each little pearl bead, but a nice job to do too. Practice makes perfect, and I'm sure a cushion or two down the road the crowns will be less lopsided.

I have been using old jewellery of mine that I no longer wear in various projects, it really adds a vintage feel to things. I thought this earring set off the crown nicely. I've used the second one in another project, a Christmas one.
I will share more of my Christmas decorations for 2009 soon. I just need to finish something first.
