And the winner is.......

A big Thank You to everyone who entered the Cushion Giveaway yesterday. I was touched that so many of you wanted to be entered. Earlier on this morning, I wrote out the names and put them in a hat. I asked my little girl to pick one out, and the one she picked was for VINTAGE GIRL! Congratulations Lisa, I hope you like the cushion! I will get the cushion in the post Wednesday of next week, and have left a comment on your blog with my contact email address.
I enjoyed doing the giveaway. I don't plan on it being a common occurrence, but I will definitely do another one later in the year.

I've had my trusty can of paint out again! In our hallway we have a lovely big mirror. I've been looking at it for a few days now,and pondering painting it.
well, yesterday it was nice and sunny and I seem to be urged to paint on such days. Here is the mirror, complete with Dudley's reflection. Ooh, I must point out that I'm not a nitwit who keeps a vase of flowers on the radiator, I'd just changed the water and they were en route to a bedroom.

Once painted, I got out my little bit of rumpled sandpaper and scuffed up the edges. Just to give it that 'been around for a hundred years' kind of look. After taking this photo I scuffed it up a little bit more.I have tied the garland of cream roses to the fixtures on the wall, because I don't want them to move from their position.
I shared of photo of the mirror a few weeks ago,but I'll show it again so you can see it before it was painted. As I started painting I wasn't sure if I would like it. My dream mirror would be a beautiful antique French mirror like this.... but with a price tag of over £1,000 it's simply not an option. Once I continued painting and then scuffed it with sandpaper, I was really pleased I'd done it. It seems to look bigger now, which is no bad thing. And it's much cheaper than buying a beautiful French one. That will have to wait until I win the lottery!

I need to scrape some paint splodges from the mirror now, to tidy it up and finish it completely, but other than that, it's finished.
My next project will be a bit more time consuming. I have an armchair that I want to make covers for. At the moment I'm thinking it's a brilliant idea, but I suspect when it comes to doing the sewing and fitting I might think otherwise!
